FilePoint started from a simple frustration: the tools people reach for most often — compressing a PDF before emailing it, shrinking a photo for a job application, converting a scanned document into an editable file — were scattered across a dozen different websites, many of which buried a free tool behind a paywall, a forced signup, or an upload to a server nobody could identify. We wanted one place that did the basics well, kept the process transparent, and never made a simple task harder than it needed to be.
What we do
FilePoint is a single website that brings together PDF tools, image tools, document and format converters, GIF and ZIP utilities, and a handful of everyday generators (barcodes, passwords, colour extraction) under one roof. Every one of these tools runs entirely on our own servers. We do not forward your files to a third-party conversion API, and we do not embed another company's tool inside an iframe and call it our own. When you compress a PDF here, our own code compresses it; when you convert an image, our own code converts it. That is the whole point of building the site this way — you always know exactly where your file went and what happened to it.
Our approach to privacy
Because every tool processes files on our infrastructure, we treat file handling as a responsibility, not an afterthought. Uploaded and processed files are stored only for as long as it takes to complete your task, and are permanently deleted automatically — full details are in our Privacy Policy. We do not read, sell, or repurpose the contents of the files you process here.
