FilePoint

Frequently Asked Questions

General questions about using FilePoint. For questions about a specific tool, check the "Frequently Asked Questions" section on that tool's own page — it covers details specific to that conversion or edit.

Is FilePoint really free?

Yes. Every tool on this site is free to use, with no daily limit designed to force you into a paid plan. The site is supported by non-intrusive advertising rather than subscriptions.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Every tool works fully as a guest — upload, process, and download without signing up. Creating a free account is optional and only useful if you want to save preferences or revisit past activity.

Are my files safe? Where are they processed?

All processing happens on our own servers — we never forward your files to a third-party website or external API. Uploaded and processed files are automatically and permanently deleted no later than 2 hours after upload. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes — most tools accept files up to a set size limit shown on the tool page, and we apply reasonable rate limits to prevent abuse and keep the service fast for everyone. If you regularly need to process unusually large files, contact us and let us know.

Can I process multiple files at once?

Many tools (such as Merge PDF, ZIP Maker, and several image tools) support batch or multi-file uploads. Where batch processing is available, you will see a multi-file drop zone on the tool page.

What file formats do you support?

The site covers PDF, JPG, PNG, JPEG, WEBP, HEIC, BMP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, plain text, several eBook formats (EPUB, MOBI, AZW, AZW3, DJVU, FB2), GIF, ZIP, and more. Check the relevant tool page for exact input and output formats.

Why does the output quality look different after conversion or compression?

Some quality change is expected with compression by design — you control the trade-off with the quality slider on tools like Compress PDF and Compress Image. For format conversions, small formatting differences can occasionally occur with complex documents; always review your output before relying on it.

Do you support automated / bulk usage via API?

Not currently — the tools are designed for interactive, browser-based use with rate limiting in place to prevent abuse. If you have an API use case, reach out through our Contact page and we'll consider it.

How do I request a new tool or report a problem?

Use the form on our Contact page. We read every message — tool requests and bug reports both directly shape what we build next.
